The Orchestra

The orchestra rehearsing

The Portsmouth Philharmonia was set up in March 2009 by a small group of amateur musicians wanting to rehearse together on a regular basis.

Since 2009 the orchestra has slightly increased in size but it is still a relatively small ensemble with 30 regular members.

The orchestra's aim is to perform at least 2 concerts per year and to raise money for charity at each concert. To date the orchestra has enjoyed 6 successful concerts, and have raised money for various charities at each.
